Behind the Gear
Biothane is the base of our collars and leashes. Biothane is an awesome, element-durable, material that will never stink, shrink, stretch, or crack. It's a totally waterproof product consisting of a super strong webbing coated in a PVC material. We've put Biothane to the test on our adventures and have never been able to make it fail.
It will stand up to everything and hold on to nothing. Dirt, mud, sand, snow and any other element you'll encounter outdoors wipe off with a quick rinse or dunk in the river!
And for those concerned about strength, you can always count on Biothane! In the form of a collar or leash, with metal hardware like we use, Biothane has a break strength of over 700lbs!
Hardware
All hardware used on Muddy Paws Adventure gear is Zinc Die-Cast metal, steel, or solid brass. The type and finish differs depending on the collection. Adventure gear features nickel plating for a durable, shiny finish; While Stealth gear features PVD or powder coating for extremely durable matte finishes.
Rivets
We source solid brass rivets, regardless of color. Brass rivets are the strongest, and most reliable, way for Muddy Paws Adventures to secure Biothane strapping. Other companies may utilize stitching, sliding straps, or clip style buckles, but we've found these all to be prone to failure or deterioration when exposed to weather and the elements (over time).
And that's it!
We don't compromise and never ship anything that fails to meet our quality standards.
Our Adventure Gear is made right here in Damascus, OR and we're proud to provide the best gear for making the best memories with your adventure buddy!
